Botox Treatment

Botox  (Botulinum Toxin) is made from the bacteria Clostridium botulinum which causes botulism. Botox is known to block nerve activity in muscles to reduce fine lines and wrinkles as a form of beauty treatment. However, it can also be used to treat certain disorders of the muscles such as spasms, stiffness, uncontrolled blinking, and even excessive underarm sweating. Botox is made from human plasma.

Botox is injected into a muscle. Usually these injections should be separated by at least 3 months in length. This treatment and lasting effect is individualized. Some may respond faster and some may not respond at all. Overall the effect varies according to the body's response to the Botox.

The effect of Botox injections can last up to three or four months. Over one million Botox treatments are performed each year. When coming to have Botox or similar agents such as Dysport and/or Xeomin avoid the consumption of alcohol at least one week before treatment.
