Intramuscular & Intravenous Injections

Asset 1.png

Intramuscular injection is used to administer medications directly into the muscles which allows medications to be absorbed into the bloodstream at a faster rate. Some vitamins are only effective through intramuscular injections.

Currently offering Vitamin B-12 and Vitamin D IM injections only.

Intravenous (IV) vitamin therapy is a method of administering vitamins and minerals directly into the bloodstream. Currently offering Glutathione and Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) intravenously alone or with our Healthy You By You vitamin and mineral infusion.

Vitamin C:

A powerful antioxidant widely recognized for strengthening the immune system, vitamin C promotes cell healing, removes heavy metals and other toxins, and supports good bacteria in the gut.

Magnesium:

Magnesium enhances absorption of all of the nutrients by opening up (vasodilation) of the small blood vessels and delivering the nutrients to tissues that may have deficient circulation. In addition, magnesium is a relaxing and sedative mineral for the nerves and muscles.

Calcium:

Known to have an alkalizing effect on the body, calcium boosts the immune system and aids in the optimal functioning of the entire body.

Vitamin B Complex:

Seven essential B vitamins, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, Folic acid and B12, keep our bodies running as they should, helping to make healthy new cells, convert food into energy and reduce inflammation.

Zinc:

Zinc is well known to affect many aspects of immune function and assist. Zinc helps with growth and wound healing. Zinc is particularly effective for helping the immune system fight viruses and pathogens.

Selenium:

Sometimes called “the immune system mineral, ”selenium is a trace mineral that is a potent antioxidant, supporting the immune system by stimulating the development of white blood cells and NK, or “killer,” cells that respond to bacteria and viruses. Selenium also works to rid the body of toxins by binding to minerals like arsenic, lead and mercury, and eliminating them from the body.

Glutathione:

Glutathione is designed to prevent damage to important cellular components in the body by protecting against free radicals, reducing oxidative stress, boosting the immune system, detoxifying and reducing cellular inflammation. It contains L-glutathione.

Things to consider prior to deciding to undergo IV therapy

Not to be used in:

  1. Pregnant or breast feeding women or the elderly.

  2. Those with heart or kidney problems, shortness of breath, neurological conditions, uncontrolled diabetes, problems with blood clotting, those who have had a recent trauma (such as accident or illness), or are currently showing signs of fever or illness.

Duration of effects:

Most people will feel well immediately after completion of their first IV therapy and go on to feel a sense of general wellness and increased energy for several days. These effects may vary from client to client.

Reported side effects:

Various complications can occur both during and after intravenous cannulation including pain, difficulty introducing the cannula, arterial puncture, blood clot formation, infection, and/or necrosis. Some people may feel a little faintish or lightheaded immediately after treatment and need to wait before leaving the spa.

Minor side effects from this treatment include bruising and tenderness at the needle insertion point, with potential for inflammation of the vein (thrombophlebitis) due to the cannulation. These should be temporary and normally resolve in two or three days. Rarely does an allergic reaction cause anaphylaxis, but it can occur.
